Seeking help for issues that are both personal and painful is hard! I’m here to make that process feel just a little bit easier. My favorite part of being a therapist is getting to hear your story and investing in it with you. I’ll listen with an objective ear and offer an outside perspective to help you consider life from a different angle. Together, we’ll come up with a strategy to keep you moving forward.

I’m especially drawn to work with clients with trauma and dissociation. Trauma can mean different things to different people. Maybe you’ve experienced a damaging life event, survived a difficult childhood, or simply struggle to stay engaged with everyday life. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help combat negative beliefs that have hijacked your ability to function well. I’m very interested in Polyvagal theory, which teaches us how our nervous system plays an important role in how we perceive the world. I can also guide you in Somatic Experiencing, or noticing where sensations and memory show up in your body. Through these practices, we can discover a more complete picture of you as a whole, functioning person. Whether or not you consider yourself a trauma survivor, improving your mind/body connection can be immensely helpful.  I see clients in person at our East Petersburg location, and also offer online therapy.

I can also help with anxietydepression, and difficult relationships with family or a partner.  I’m happy to incorporate your faith and/or spirituality as a strength to assist you in healing if that is an area you choose to draw from. Another tool that has revolutionized my life personally and professionally is the Enneagram. I use it to inform my approach to clients in a unique and specific way. More than just a "behavior predictor", it can help get us out of the box that is our personality, giving options to grow and manage the best and worst of ourselves.

I was born and raised in Lancaster County, leaving for a period of time during college and young adulthood. Re-entering this area and establishing a family has given me perspective on the unique strengths and challenges of the culture here. Whether you’re new to the area or you’re born and raised here, I can meet you there. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Millersville University and have been working in the field for the past 10 years. I’m thankful to be able to say that I’m passionate about my profession, and I look forward to a relationship with you!
