Your relationship with your partner has been on the rocks lately. There has been a decrease in communication, and you may be feeling cold toward each other. The lack of intimacy is starting to take its toll and neither your spouse’s needs nor your own are being met. You’re looking for a way to restore that feeling of love and connection you once had, but you don’t know how to do it on your own and it’s time to seek help.

If this sounds like you, then your relationship could benefit from couples counseling. What is couples counseling? Couples counseling is when a couple (married or exclusively committed) receive counseling with a professional to help resolve relationship stressors and/or hurts. Individual therapy allows you to focus on oneself physically, psychologically, socially, and even spiritually to identify what will benefit your well-being and allow you to maintain a happy life. Couples counseling takes all those same elements and applies it to your relationship well-being to help you maintain love and peace throughout the length of your relationship.  Couples counseling is an opportunity for you and your partner to focus primarily on your relationship, what it needs to be healthy, and how to meet the needs of both partners. Most of our couples therapists have completed Level 1 and Level 2 trainings in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

If you are struggling in your relationship, and you want to restore hope for a better relationship, please contact us to schedule an appointment.  You can do so by filling out our Request Appointment form on our website or calling 717-723-8040 extension 100 to schedule with our Client Coordinators.  Additionally, you can read more on self paying for therapy since couples counseling is a self pay service, and is not billed to insurance. Insurance requires one person to be the identified client, with a mental health diagnosis, and the family sessions must address that. Most couples counseling does not meet this criteria since it tends to focus on things like communication, conflict, parenting, or infidelity.
