Laney Rapsey MS LPC

My specialty has been primarily working with adults, young adults, and adolescents, focusing on depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, coping skills, and interpersonal skills.  My primary training is in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.  I work alongside my clients to feel more in control of their choices and emotional experiences while encouraging self-compassion and acceptance of where they are in the process of change.  I see clients in person at both our East Petersburg and Lancaster locations, and also offer online therapy.

I earned my M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania.  I’ve worked in a variety of settings in the mental health field for over 9 years.  I started my career working in a supportive living community and a neurorehabilitation clinic providing services to support individuals with chronic mental illnesses and traumatic brain injuries to maintain their mental health and independence.  My more recent experiences include working in a partial hospitalization program as well as in private practice as a counselor providing individual therapy as well as leading psychoeducational groups and Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups.

In addition to offering therapy, I serve as the Clinical Documentation Coordinator here. I regularly review all of our client charts, making sure that our charts, session notes and other clinical documentation are complete.

I love the sense of community in Lancaster and feel privileged to serve its people.  I enjoy spending my time hiking with my dog and spending time outside.  I look forward to working alongside you to accept who you are while encouraging the change you want to help you fulfill your personal goals.
